Psychotherapy for Women

I am psychotherapist who is passionate about helping women through intense past and present struggles, especially given the expectations that society places on women today.  We will work through anger, anxiety, depression and loss and improve relationships with partners, family and friends. Therapy provides a safe and supportive place for you to explore your emotions and needs so you can feel more confident and at peace in your life.  I provide in person therapy at Franklin Square, which is located between Trader Joe’s and I-40 in Chapel Hill and online therapy.

Some of the issues I address in Psychotherapy:
  • Stress/ Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship/ Family Issues
  • Low Self-Esteem/Low Self-Worth
  • Body Image Issues
  • Parenting Issues
  • Trauma
  • Grief/Loss
  • ADHD
  • Chronic Health Issues
  • LGBTQ+ Issues
  • Aging

Therapy takes courage.

Being vulnerable and sharing your story takes courage.  Many women feel shame or  confusion about their past, sadness or anxiety in the present, or negatively judge themselves or their bodies.  By sharing these stories and feelings in therapy, shame can’t survive.  Through self-compassion, you move from self-criticism toward self-acceptance.

Therapy is personal.

I want you to feel comfortable with the way we approach your therapy.  I am a person-centered talk therapist that blends CBT, DBT and Compassion-Focused skills. Your therapy can be  personalized based on what suits you best.

Therapy helps.

As women, we are often exhausted due to the multiple roles we play: in our romantic partnerships, as caretakers of children or our parents, as family members and friends. Therapy helps you examine how negative patterns may have developed and make positive life changes.

Therapy empowers.

I would be happy to answer any questions you have about therapy and about my approach to therapy.  If you would like to start therapy, you can also reach out to me and leave an email at steph.bittle@twostepsforward.us .  I prefer if you are going to leave information that is too personal that you call 919-590-0870.  The confidentiality of email on the internet is not guaranteed.
